MobileMonday Vietnam July event discussed the new topic of this Vietnam industry: Mobile applications & showcases sponsored by Viettel Media.

The event was held in Luxor Cafe & Restaurant, Ngyuen Chi Thanh Street, Hanoi on July 14th 2008 7pm evening, with a nice and friendly atmosphere. The total participants show up is around 120 people who registered themselves via newsletter, website, email, phone calls & word of mouth. The participants included telecom operators, content providers, a number of colleagues from developers, media and university institutions.

The room was packed, the food was great, the drinks were free and the discussion was intense. With a brief introduction of MobileMonday and how it functions by Momo Vietnam, Hanoi chapter founder, Tom See, then followed by our 3 honorable speakers: Mr Huy from Viettel Media, Mr Hai from FPT Information System, & Mr Caruso from Buongiorno who delivered their ideas & insights and message on our July events as well as participants on Q&A session. We are proud to see the degree of innovations shown in their presentation and demonstration.

Our presentation start with Mr. Bui Quang Huy, General Director of Viettel Media, subsidiary of Viettel Corporation, as he explain & demonstrate on varies opportunities in Vietnam mobile industry as telecommunication operators point of view. To promotes the mobile and digital industries and fosters cooperation and networking among industry people and their companies by providing opportunities for personal and virtual contacts.

Following by Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Director of FPT Information System has showcases how FPT Corporation support & develop on their latest mobile 2.0 innovations, such as Vitalk & ViMaps.

Next up was the knowledgeable Mr. Fabrizio Caruso, Co-CEO/COO-South East Asia for Buongiorno Hong Kong Ltd. Buongiorno Hong Kong Ltd is a subsidary of Buongiorno SpA. Mr. Caruso has shared with audiences about Mobile Subscription Services and how these applications are going to boost Vietnam VAS market and help operators to increase ARPU and sustain growth within competition.Buongiorno is the world's No.1 company in Mobile entertainment driving the burgeoning cellphone entertainment and personalization industry. Buongiorno is also empowering the Mobile Infotainment with its unique and innovative applications for various operators in Asia Pacific market. Buongiorno is already in Vietnam and is taking a lead to provide new and innovative applications to various operators.

As always the Q&A session with the audience opened up some heated debate and thing carried on till 9pm. The night ended with the usual networking session while everyone enjoyed the tasty food provided.

The total attended by around  150 people, including a number of colleagues from developers, media and university institutions.
